Private Beta Agreement

LearnBetter is in a private beta: an early test of the service with a small group of invited people before it opens to everyone. Creating an account during the beta means agreeing to the points on this page. At launch, the full Terms of Service and Privacy Policy take its place.

It is a test

• Features, screens, limits and prices may change during the beta, sometimes without notice.
• Videos can fail or come out with mistakes. Scripts LearnBetter writes are fact-checked, but every video should be watched and checked before it is shared or relied on.
• The service may be unavailable at times, and LearnBetter may pause or end the beta at any time.
• During the beta the service is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be free of errors or always available.

Gifted minutes

• Beta testers receive minutes as a gift, to use on videos and revisions like any other minutes.
• Gifted minutes have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money.
• Minutes cannot be bought during the beta.
• Before launch, LearnBetter will email beta testers about what carries over to the launched service.

Videos and uploads

• Upload, paste or link only material the tester has the right to use. Nothing illegal, hateful or harmful, and no private details about other people, such as passwords, card numbers or ID numbers.
• Testers keep their rights in what they upload. LearnBetter uses it only to make, store and deliver their videos and to run the service.
• Videos stay private unless the tester turns on a share link or offers a video for the home page.

How videos and data are handled

• To make a video, the material for it (the topic, text, document or web page text, the transcript of a recording, images, the script, special instructions and pronunciation words) is sent to Anthropic, whose Claude models write the scripts and make the videos. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this material is not used to train its models.
• Speech in an uploaded recording is turned into text on LearnBetter's own production machines, not by an outside service.
• The site runs on Render, files are stored with Cloudflare, emails are sent through Resend, and error reports go to Sentry with names, email addresses and content left out.
• LearnBetter does not sell personal information and uses no advertising or analytics trackers.
• LearnBetter staff can see videos and uploads when needed to give support, review a held request or a report, or look into a problem.

How long things are kept:

• Finished video files: 60 days after delivery, with an email before they are deleted.
• Working files that make revisions possible: 18 months from a video's first delivery.
• Original uploaded documents and recordings, and the records of each production job: deleted after 60 days, once the video's files are gone and no work on it is under way.
• Videos moved to Trash: deleted after 7 days.
• Records of emails the site sends: 12 months.
• Feedback: until the account is closed.

Settings has Download my data for a copy of everything kept, and a way to delete the account, which removes its videos, uploads and files. Privacy questions go to privacy@learnbetter.now.

Feedback

• Feedback can be sent at any time with Send feedback in the account menu, or by email to support@learnbetter.now.
• LearnBetter may use feedback freely to improve the service, with no payment or obligation to the person who sent it.
• Feedback is never published with a tester's name without that tester's permission.

Accounts

• Beta testers must be 18 or older.
• Each account is for one person, and its password is not to be shared.
